Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What does this involve?
Adding LED strips or puck lights under kitchen cabinets for task lighting.
How does it work?
Light under upper cabinets reduces shadows on a kitchen counter. LED strips, bars, and puck lights can use different drivers and controls.
What affects the job?
A dimming or flickering strip may have a driver or compatibility problem. Cabinet layout, switching, and where power can be concealed affect the work.
What should you tell us?
A photo of the fixture and where it would go, ceiling height, and whether there is already a working light or fan there. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
